Announcing Spring League 2012

Coaches, Captains, and Players,

Get your teams together and register for the 2012 Spring League. We're expecting a record number of teams again, so don't delay!

Schedule and Games

The 2012 Spring League consists of eight weeks of league play and ends with a two-day tournament. There are two divisions; Open (boys and girls) and Girls (girls only). Open teams may include both boys and girls, or just boys.

  • GIRLS games will be played every Tuesday beginning April 3, 2012.
  • OPEN games will be played every Thursday beginning April 5, 2012.
  • Games start at 6:00pm unless otherwise determined by the team captains. Teams will have an equitable number of home and away games.
  • Players are responsible for providing their own transportation to all games. Carpools are encouraged.
  • An adult chaperone associated with the team must be present at each league game. See Policies.
  • The end of season tournament will be held on June 2-3, 2012 at the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN.

Fees and Costs

The League Fee for 2012 is still an affordable $40 per player. All players must also pay a $30 fee for a USA Ultimate membership. League fees and USA Ultimate membership dues are paid separately. See the Team Registration page for details about how the fees should be paid. Any additional costs for equipment such as jerseys and discs will be determined by individual teams.

Other Rules for 2012

To participate in the State Championship, each team must play in the 8 game season or play at least 3 games against other League teams in USAU Sanctioned Tournaments held in Minnesota. If your team can't make it to a tournament, you can make arrangements to play unscheduled games with at least 3 other League teams with the approval of the State Youth Coordinator.

Rosters will be locked down on Tuesday, May 22nd; no new players can be added after that date or players moved between A, B , etc. teams.

The League requires each school (with any number of teams) to have at least one USAU Level 1 Certified Coach. To make this less painful, the League will reimburse the registration cost to a Level 1 Clinic or the Recertification cost for those whose Certifications have expired. Reimbursments will be made after the State Championship on evidence that you actually coached a team during League games and the State Championship.

In 2012, we will continue the policy to reward NEW Girls teams with a $500 discount payable after the State Tournament.
